A collaboration between Gamma, DocT, and VIVID Gallery presents a new approach to editions on the Bitcoin blockchain. Weapon of Mass Liberation is more than an image, it is a statement. Throughout history, artists have sounded the alarm against authoritarianism and the erosion of freedom. Its core message, “CREATION IS LIBERATION,” becomes permanent as inscriptions on Bitcoin, elevating the chain from money to memory, from finance to culture. In an age of surveillance and censorship, Bitcoin offers artists a way to bypass control and preserve their voices.
The edition is anchored by a parent inscription securing both identity and provenance, referencing the seals of DocT and VIVID Gallery directly on-chain. An intermediate layer separates the artwork and handcrafted digits from the editions, which reference these assets through recursion. This layered design minimizes blockchain footprint while ensuring authenticity, efficiency, and permanence.

Meet DocT
DocT is a Germany-based multidisciplinary artist and practicing pediatrician whose work fuses anthropology, technology, and raw human experience into an insurgent visual language. Shaped by years in conflict zones, his art cuts with empathy but strikes with defiance. From his roots in street art to his current form of anthropological neo-expressionism, he refuses polish in favor of rupture, rage, and truth.
Weapon of Mass Liberation does not decorate, it detonates. A paint-heavy hand grips the brush like a blade, not to flatter but to fracture. The stroke is crude, violent, unrepentant, colors burst like gunfire: yellow, red, green, pink. This is not harmony. This is resistance.
Art history is littered with rebellion, from the underground to the Salon des Refusés, from Futurist screeds to Dadaist provocation. DocT’s work stands in that lineage of refusal, rejecting control, gatekeepers, and compromise. But his battlefield is not Paris in 1863 or Zurich in 1916, it is Bitcoin.
On-chain, art cannot be censored, erased, or tamed. Every digital brushstroke carries the pulse of the protocol, a refusal of cultural, economic, and political submission.

For Weapon of Mass Liberation, we referenced both DocT and VIVID Gallery seals as the parent inscriptions, permanently recording the collaboration on-chain. From there, the structure splits into two branches. The “Editions” branch groups the 100 individual editions, while the “Assets” branch contains the essential building blocks of the artworks. The Assets branch is simple but critical, holding the static elements such as the original artwork and the hand-drawn digits used for numbering. The deepest branch demonstrates the system’s efficiency: the “Edition” inscription carries the rendering code, which operates in two modes. In parent mode, if no number is detected, it simply displays “Editions.” In artwork mode, if metadata contains an edition number, it fetches the correct assets through recursion and renders the edition.
